You know when people say things like ‘it’s funny because it’s true’, this isn’t funny because it’s true.
My UK-based, personal view on this is the academic teaching in general is astonishingly bad (when I go back into classrooms with TooManyCooks, I’m often blown away by the teaching skills of the secondary school staff in particular). My hope is that as standards rise in general (which was my big hope of the change in fee structure, even if I disagreed with it for social reasons), we’ll see more and more people realise that good teaching is accessible teaching and this sort of thing will vannish. But it’s going to be a long road. 🙁
